Plan the Complete RTU
An ACE3600 installation includes more than a CPU. The controller, power supply, frame, I/O modules, field wiring and communications equipment must work together. Begin with the signals to monitor, the equipment to control and the information the central SCADA application needs. That establishes a practical basis for the bill of materials and application scope.
For an existing panel, include photographs of the labels and backplane, current drawings and an application backup. We compare the installed configuration with the proposed change before identifying equipment to retain or replace. A serviceable enclosure or radio does not automatically make the rest of the installation suitable for a new control requirement.
CPU and Communications Choices
Our catalog includes the F7502A CPU3640 and FLN4234A CPU3680 assembly. Preserve the full ordering number and revision when identifying either unit. A CPU model, assembled RTU and spare assembly can have different order codes and included equipment; search results are not a substitution list.
The communications review covers the actual radio or network interface, available ports, protocol, remote-site addressing and connection to the host. Where alternative communication paths are required, we define how failures are detected and how the controller and HMI should behave during recovery. Firmware, licenses and security settings are checked for the proposed system.
I/O, Power and Panel Space
Count each signal by electrical type as well as function. A pump running indication, a pressure transmitter and a relay command have different interface requirements. The catalog includes digital input, relay output, analog and mixed I/O modules. Check input range, output type, isolation requirements and terminal arrangements against the applicable documentation.
The power review covers the incoming supply, controller and radio loads, battery arrangement where required, and the available mounting space. FPN1652A and FPN1640B represent different supply arrangements. Their voltage descriptions alone do not establish that one can replace the other. Include cable and connector requirements in the equipment list so they can be checked before shipment.
Application Engineering and Field Integration
GDS can scope controller programming, panel work, radio configuration, HMI integration and commissioning alongside equipment supply. For Qatar PAACS modernization, our work included ACE3600 controllers, custom panels and encrypted control communications. For Medina County, the HMI migration retained Motorola RTUs while replacing Wonderware with VTScada.
Those projects illustrate different ways to retain and update control systems. For your installation, we establish the operating sequence, alarm behavior, communications-loss response and acceptance checks with the owner. The proposal identifies application files, drawings, training and other handover deliverables rather than assuming they are included with a hardware purchase.
Replacement Parts, Manuals and Ordering
Browse parts by full number or search a CPU model such as CPU3680. Published prices are accompanied by a quote path for confirming condition, availability, shipping and the required configuration. If the label differs from the listing, send both numbers for review before placing an order.
Use the ACE3600 owner's manual as an installation reference for the equipment and edition it covers. Older manuals remain useful for installed systems, but they may not describe later processors or options. GDS can help identify the additional documentation needed for a particular revision and define repair or modernization work when a simple replacement is unsuitable.
