Global Data Specialists replaced two Allen-Bradley SLC 500 PLCs at the City of Sidney, Ohio wastewater treatment plant with CompactLogix 5380 controllers, one at the raw pump station and one in the blower building.
Keeping the Field Wiring
GDS used Allen-Bradley 1492 conversion modules so the new controllers could use the existing field wiring.
HMI Communications
A contract amendment covered updates to the plant's Wonderware drivers and communications so the operator screens could read the new controllers.
Cutover
The cutover took place January 13–15, 2026. Afterward, the plant ran in automatic mode on the new controllers.
