Global Data Specialists was contracted through Booz Allen Hamilton to install Fire Alarm Reporting System (FARS) upgrades at Andersen Air Force Base in Guam. The work is part of the Thunderdome program.
GDS's Installation Scope
The work covers replacement of aging fire alarm equipment across multiple buildings. GDS's responsibilities include control panels, field devices, wiring, and coordination of related building communications and mass notification equipment.
GDS also prepares installation plans and quality-control documentation for inspection and commissioning. The installation work is coordinated with the prime contractor and the equipment supply team.
GDS's Role in Thunderdome
Thunderdome is a DISA initiative that applies zero-trust security principles to network access and applications. Booz Allen describes its role in the program in its Thunderdome production-agreement announcement.
