SCADA Telemetry Radios
SCADA Telemetry data is typically transmitted over a variety of communication methods including analog/digital two-way radio, dial-up modem, point-to-point microwave, 3G/4G public or private cell networks, and Ethernet.

Radios and RTUs make a powerful combination for data transmission over long distances, over all types of terrain, and over potential obstructions such as mountains, woodlands, or buildings. Radios last a long time and do not incur ongoing operating expenses that other data transmission methods do. If radios are well-suited for the SCADA application at hand, they are the preferred choice.

GDS offers a wide variety of radios from various OEMs for SCADA applications. Some of the common radio types that we offer are:

Motorola MotoTRBO
Used widely for SCADA applications, the Motorola MotoTRBO radio is a conventional analog mobile radio that is available in VHF, UHF, and 800MHz frequency ranges. Radio power is available in 1-25 watts. Global Data Solutions offers a complete radio kit that includes a radio, adapters, cables, and bracket. The kit is specially configured and programmed for SCADA and irrigation applications.
Motorola Vertex Standard
An ultra-reliable and powerful choice for rugged SCADA applications, Vertex is another conventional analog mobile radio. It is available in low band, VHF, and UHF frequency ranges. Radio power is available in a range of 1-70 watts. The robust design and features make it well suited for long-range and high-power applications. GDS offers a customized Vertex radio kit that is specially designed and configured for SCADA applications. Kit includes radio, adapters, cables, and bracket.
Maxon

Another popular choice among SCADA radios, the Maxon is a small form-factor data radio that is available in VHF and UHF frequency ranges. Radio power is available in 1-5 watts, making this radio ideal for short-range communications. GDS offers a complete radio kit that is specially configured and programmed for SCADA and irrigation applications. Kit includes radio, adapters, cables, and bracket.
Calamp

CalAmp data radios offer intelligent, point-to-multipoint bridge or router capabilities for licensed narrowband spectrum holders. Telemetry applications include water, wastewater, energy, and utility industries.
